Sources: Housley Being Encouraged to Run for Governor

KarinHousleyHeadshotAccording to multiple sources I spoke with today, State Senator Karin Housley (R-St. Mary’s Point) is being enouraged to run for governor in 2014 against Gov. Mark Dayton. While Housley was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2012, she is already considered one of the strongest Republican members in the Minnesota Senate with tremendous statewide potential.

The sources I spoke with today highlighted Housley’s background as a small business owner, her communications and political skills, and her statewide name recognition.

Housley didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Please check back to politics.mn later this evening for updates on this developing story.
