State Senator Karin Housley (R-St. Mary’s Point) confirmed this morning that she is being encouraged to run for governor in 2014 against Gov. Mark Dayton. Housley said she is giving “thoughtful and serious consideration” about becoming a candidate for governor next year.
As I noted yesterday, Housley was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2012 and she is already considered one of the strongest Republican members in the Minnesota Senate with tremendous statewide potential. If Sen. Rosen were to announce that she is a candidate, it would totally shake-up the Republican race for governor.
