Housley Giving “Thoughtful and Serious Consideration” About Running for Governor

KarinHousleyHeadshotState Senator Karin Housley (R-St. Mary’s Point) confirmed this morning that she is being encouraged to run for governor in 2014 against Gov. Mark Dayton. Housley said she is giving “thoughtful and serious consideration” about becoming a candidate for governor next year.

As I noted yesterday, Housley was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2012 and she is already considered one of the strongest Republican members in the Minnesota Senate with tremendous statewide potential. If Sen. Rosen were to announce that she is a candidate, it would totally shake-up the Republican race for governor.

  1. I think we could use a woman who knows small business running for Minnesota governor. I would hope she realizes that raising taxes, taxes, taxes is not the only way to run a state. This is hurting the middle class and making things more difficult for small business owners to survive.

  4. I am glad to see Sen. Housley considering the race for Governor. A strong conservative woman is the best chance the GOP has at defeating Mark Dayton.
