Double Quote of the Day: Hennepin County Commissioners on Jeff Johnson

QuoteoftheDay“There are a lot of 6-1 votes, and he is usually on the side that doesn’t prevail,” said Mike Opat, chair of the Hennepin County Board who, it should be noted, is serving on Gov. Mark Dayton’s campaign finance committee. “[Jeff Johnson] doesn’t work very hard to try and convince the rest of us to move any of our positions. I don’t know if he considers that a productive use of his time.” Source: MinnPost, “Commissioner ‘No’: a look at Jeff Johnson’s record on the Hennepin County Board”, Source: MinnPost, October 21, 2014

“I’m sitting here trying to think an issue [Jeff Johnson] taken a lead on,” said 2nd District Commissioner Linda Higgins, who represents part of the city of Plymouth alongside Johnson. “I can’t think of anything too major.” Source: MinnPost, “Commissioner ‘No’: a look at Jeff Johnson’s record on the Hennepin County Board”, Source: MinnPost, October 21, 2014

I am not a huge fan of Johnson, but thank goodness he votes against these big government people.

  2. Average_JoeMN says:

Seriously, quoting DFL’ers who have every reason to not say good things about him? Why didn’t you ask Mark Dayton what he thinks about Jeff Johnson? Jeez, this was really a stupid post.

  3. The best thing Jeff Johnson ever did was point out some of the waste in Hennepin County. At least there was 1/7 who could vote correctly. That million dollars the other six spent on solar panels that would save the county $15K a year in electricity was an act of genus. The 6/7 never even questioned why the government was getting into the electricity business, much less how much money they were going to lose for the taxpayer. Like the government could produce electricity cheaper than the private sector. The 6/7 are idiots.
